I didn’t want to write this article. I didn’t want to write about war in Ukraine. It was unavoidable, however, for the Ukrainian people, so it’s something we cannot ignore. That’s (fortunately) been the case: for most of the world, the suffering of the Ukrainians has been unignorable. In the Czech Republic, but also in many countries, people have been open-hearted to the refugees and following the situation with their sympathies clearly and firmly behind the victims. I personally know three people who have organised accommodation for 12 refugees, mostly women and children, in their own homes or in houses they can offer.
