2020: half-way report

So much has happened already in 2020 that it seems necessary to update even in the middle of the year; Earlier this year, I speculated that after 20 years of the new century it was a time when the 21st century would begin to show its true character. If so, that’s a rather worrying thing, because much of what is happening in current times shows harmful tendencies.
